This is an original design by Jean Muir, who owned Jane & Jane from '62-66, until opening a line with her own name. This was sold at Henri Bendel (London) so it does have history behind it! Silhouette is fit & flare, w/a princess-seam bodice feat. long sleeves. The skirt is box-pleated into the waist, & has 2 hidden pockets. The lower part of skirt has 2 chocolate brown color satin ribbons. Fabric is a lt. wt. 100% wool jersey knit & only the skirt is lightly lined w/a burnt orange acetate fabric. Interior feat. a ribbon waistband, w/hook & eye closures at both interior & exterior waist, + center-back metal zipper closure, w/more hook & eyes at neckline -option for a full-standing turtleneck/folded. Condition is good, strong & wearable but w/condition issues; an alteration was made at some point, letting down the hem, by moving the top ribbon -which I believe is original, whereas the lower ribbon doesn't quite match colors, so I believe it was added during alteration -sadly, left many teeny tiny stitch holes, which are noticeable when light is backing the fabric. There are also about 2 dozen moth holes throughout, w/some of these having been patch-repaired & some darn-repaired. I've done my best to catch & fix all the issues however some teeny holes remain at skirt & lining.
