About the Artist
Dick Jonas flew 125 air combat missions in the Vietnam War. He was an F-4 Phantom II jet fighter pilot assigned to the 8th Tactical Fighter Wing Wolfpack at Ubon Royal Thai Air Force Base, Thailand, from September of 1967 to May of 1968. For his acts in the Vietnam War, he was awarded the Air Medal 13 times and the Distinguished Flying Cross three times. After 22 years service, he retired from the United States Air Force in 1986 as a Command Pilot, holding the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. He is a teacher, a writer, a guitar-player, and a singer. He also flies. In addition to his participation on "Incountry" Dick has produced six similar albums of his own, along with a song book containing lyrics and war stories of the 76 songs in his collection.
